The Wizarding World of Harry Potter #1 Guide

I don’t know about you guys, but I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan; I was absolutely thrilled when a Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened closer to home and it definitely did not disappoint. I’ve made this itinerary for you to help you have a perfect day at the park!

Entrance of Harry Potter World

9 AM (Or Park Opening)- Try Frozen Butter Beer

I am not exaggerating when I say frozen butter beer is one of the best drinks I have ever had and it is a must try (probably even twice!)

TIP: Although the little carts around the park are super cute, they always have long lines. If you walk into the Hog’s Head, there is never a line and you can order a frozen butter beer there!

9:30- Forbidden Journey Ride

The Hogwarts Castle is a sight to behold and they did an amazing job replicating it! The castle holds the line for the Forbidden Journey and is definitely one of the best queues ever. You even get to walk into Dumbledore’s office and hear from Ron, Hermione and Harry!

The Forbidden Journey is an interactive 4D ride and one of my favorite rides ever! I don’t want to say too much as to spoil it, but trust me, you will love it!

10:30 Olivander’s Wand Shop

Olivander’s is a must for first time park goers! It is an interactive show with Olivander himself with about ten other park guests in the room. One person from the group gets picked to be part of the show. The person then goes through  different special effects for their wand to find them until finally a light shines and magical music plays and the wand has been picked! It is totally magical if you are a Harry Potter fan.

TIP: I don’t know this for certainty, but usually the person that looks like they are the most interested in Harry Potter aka wearing Harry Potter attire gets picked for the show. I got picked when I was there and it was amazing!

11 AM- Buy an Interactive Wand!

Ok, ok yes the interactive wands are expensive. Do I think it was worth it? For me, yes! It really makes the park so much more than rides, but an actual interactive experience. You get a little map showing you all of the places in the park that you can use your wand and then when you find those places you can do spells with your wand that will have different outcomes depending on the place. Whether it is making skeletons dance or water come out of fountains, it is truly a fun way to spend your day at the park!

11:30 AM- Moaning Myrtle in the Restroom

Ok so you have to go to the bathroom, err the loo while you are in Harry Potter World just to hear Moaning Myrtle! They actually have her voice coming from speakers and her moaning and it really just shows they thought of every little detail in this park!

I had so much fun eating at the Three Broomsticks. They have many different choices including pot pies and drumstick platters!

TIP:  If you eat outside, you’ll get a nice view of the castle!

12:30 PM- Watch the Frog Choir

There are a couple of different shows at Harry Potter World, but the Frog Choir has to be one of my favorite. They make it look like the toads are actually singing and it is pretty entertaining- plus the singers are actually really good!

1 PM- Check out all of the shops

It is fun to just walk around and look inside all of the different shops and try not to spend too much on souvenirs!

2 PM- Visit the Hogwarts Express

The Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter World Hollywood is unfortunately not a ride, but it is still fun to stop by for a quick photo opp with the conductor!

3 PM- Get Treats at Honey Dukes

There are so many different cute treats to choose from at Honey Duke’s and they even have a ton of different candy from the movie like Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Botts every flavored beans!

If time, Ride Flight of the Hippogriff

I only recommend this ride if you have extra time or smaller kids with you as it is a bit underwhelming. The queue is kind of cute though and has a little replica of Hagrid’s hut.

Hogwarts3 1

Well there you have it! Enjoy the rest of the park for the rest of the day!
