Alpine Loop in Utah | #1 Place For Beautiful Fall Colors

My husband and I decided to take a nice Sunday drive tonight and we decided to go to Alpine Loop Utah. Although we had been to American Fork and Provo Canyon before, we had never actually done the loop drive. I have to say I have lived in Utah my whole life and this drive had the best fall leaves I have ever seen!

There were yellows, oranges and reds everywhere! I gasped so many times, it was beautiful! There are tons of different view points that you can pull off on and many different trails you can go on. Popular places to stop include Sundance Ski Resort and The Stewart Falls Trail. If you have extra time, head to Tibble Fork Reservoir or Cascade Springs for some really scenic hikes!

TIP: We came in through Provo Canyon and exited out American Fork Canyon. I think we definitely chose right because as we were leaving at 4 PM, the American Fork Canyon entrance was packed! If you are able to, it will probably be a lot less busy on a weekday. There is also construction coming in the American Fork Canyon way so it is currently a one lane road which adds a lot of time.

Another important thing to note is that it costs a small fee to get into the canyon, so make sure to carry cash on you. Also put one of the canyon names into your GPS, not actually “Alpine Loop.” There is an Alpine Loop road in Provo- found that out the hard way haha.

I hope you have a chance to check out these leaves or make a special trip to Utah next year to see the leaves if you don’t live here! Here are some of the photos that we took! Oh another bonus, it is dog friendly!

Happy Autumn everyone!
