Moab Under Canvas | #1 Glamping in Moab Utah

Book your stay here!

When I told my dad I would be headed to Moab, he asked me where I was going to be staying and I excitedly told him that I would be glamping in Moab, Under Canvas! I continued to talk about Moab without a second thought. Suddenly he interrupted me and said, “Wait, what? Did you say G-lamping?” I started to laugh, “I thought everyone knew what glamping was, come on Dad, get with the times, it is super popular!”

As I began to tell more people I would be glamping, I started to realize that it is a fairly new concept. A lot of people really didn’t know what it was! So if you didn’t know, don’t feel bad, you’re not alone. In fact if you didn’t know, I think it will make my dad feel a whole lot better to know that he wasn’t alone!

To give a short answer, glamping is basically “glamorous camping.” You are still inside of tents, but there is a bit of luxury added. You have your own beds, sometimes bathrooms, and other such amenities. As much as camping can be fun, I definitely don’t mind a bit of luxury at the end of an adventurous day. I always thought it sounded so cool so I was thrilled when Moab Under Canvas in Utah invited me to come and see what it was all about and I can assure you, I wasn’t disappointed!

Location- Glamping in Moab Utah

Moab Under Canvas is about 12 miles outside of the city of Moab and only about a 5 minute drive away from Arches National Park! It is also really close to the road that you take to get to Canyon-lands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park so the location is really great and close to so much stuff to do!

You are also in the middle of a desert so if it’s a clear night, you will have the perfect opportunity for star gazing. There are various types of tents that you can choose to stay the night in, it was pretty busy the week that I was headed there so unfortunately the deluxe tent was sold out, but I definitely recommend it because it actually includes your own toilet and shower right in your room!

The other tents are still amazing of course, it just kind of sucks when you have the urge to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and you realize the place you need to get to is outside of the comforts of your own tent.  Although the bathroom is not in your actual tent, the bathrooms are inside of a big trailer near your tents and they are actually really nice.

The rooms are really nice with big comfy beds with lots of pillows and even extra warm blankets in the bottom of your dresser in case you get cold at night, there is also a wood burning fire in your tent to keep you warm! They have also included a coat rack so you can hang up your sweaters and jackets. It definitely had the comforts of home while still having the pleasure of camping- the perfect balance!

Food

There are plenty of food options depending on what kind of experience you are going for and how many days you are planning to spend. If you are hoping to have more of the camping feel, there are plenty of super markets in town to buy some food or you can prepare some camping meals and store in a cooler if you are coming from not too far away. The crew at Moab Under Canvas lights a bon fire each night so you are able to cook your food in the fire just like traditional camping!

For breakfast, for $14* per person you can enjoy a breakfast in camp or you can take it to go if you are trying to beat the crowds to the sunrise at Mesa Arch like me (good luck ;)). They also have picnic lunches for $16* which include a salad and a wrap or a sandwich. They have water bottles for purchase or they have water you can fill up your re-usable bottles in.

There are also plenty of delicious options in Moab so be sure to check some of them out! I tried out the food truck Quesadilla Mobilla and it was divine! I would seriously go to Moab again just to have another one of those Quesadilla’s!

Activities

Moab Under Canvas plans activities for its guests every day.  My absolute favorite activity they have is their S’mores Bar! It wouldn’t be camping/glamping without my favorite treats.  They light the campfire every night around dusk and keep it on as long as people are there. I went later at night after watching the sunset at Delicate Arch.

There were a lot of people from all over the world gathered around the campfire and we all shared stories of what we had done that day and gave tips to each other for the next day. It was definitely one of my favorite parts of my glamping in Moab Utah adventure!

There you have it! Glamping in Moab Utah with Moab Under Canvas is a great way to experience the area, hope you enjoyed!
